Day 6 of #MarchMangaMadness: Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii by Asuka Konishi and published by Seven Seas Entertainment.
I don’t even know where to start with this one because Yakuza Fiancé is truly unhinged. But it wouldn’t be an Asuka Konishi story if it wasn’t. If you’ve been here before, you may remember my review of Haru’s Curse, which is by the same mangaka.
The story basically is about these teenage yakuza members because sure, why not. It’s messy and dramatic, and I am eating it all up. Even if you’re not a fan of yakuza or mess, I recommend this for the art style alone. Konoshi’s style is so different from what’s out right now and it is so beautiful to look at.

You’re right the art style does look different! It looks a bit more like Korean manhwa rather than Japanese manga art. I like it! I’ve definitely noticed that yakuza stories have become a lot more popular recently, and I’m totally loving the new genre!
