About Demon Under the Waxing Moon
Demon Under the Waxing Moon is a boys’ love manga by Fumi Tsuyuhisa. It is being published in in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. Tsuyuhisa is also the creator of God of Seduction in the Bedroom, which Seven Seas is publishing later this year.
In it, Suzuka Minoru is a writer who’s been plagued by spirits and supernatural beings all his life. At this point in his life, he’s used to it. So when he sees an injured dog-like beast outside of his home, he doesn’t think twice about bringing it inside to nurse it back to health. Unbeknownst to him, this “beast” is actually a *really hot* demon on a mission to reclaim his true name. Minoru decides to help him while letting the demon feed on him. Feeding with his body, of course.
My Thoughts
This manga is so sultry and sexy, I can’t get enough. From the moment we are introduced to Minoru, he oozes this sexy, aloof confidence. When Maru (the demon) lands in Minoru’s lap, literally and figuratively, Minoru figures he can help. Why not get eaten by a sexy demon?? Minoru has an open mind and is okay with hooking up with Maru to get what he wants. He’s easily my favorite character in the story. He’s so flirty and fun, but under the surface lies a bit of pain from his past.
Romance and lust aside, Demon Under the Waxing Moon also has a touching story about loneliness at its core. Due to seeing spirits, Minoru’s been alone most of his life. It isn’t until Maru is at his side that he realizes how much he’s been longing to have someone like this. I love that Minoru comes to be honest with himself about that he’s been missing and how he’s been coping.
Demon Under the Waxing Moon is the perfect read for spooky season and beyond.
