5 Ongoing BL Manhwa I’m Reading on Lezhin

I’m always reading something and like the good supplier I am, I am happy to put you on. All of these titles are what I’m currently reading on the South Korean manhwa service, Lehzin. Because sharing is caring! And I care about my fellow rotten people reading rotten things (I kid.)

I used to never read ongoing stories and I still get mad at myself when I do, but sometimes the anxiety of waiting for the next episode feels so good! These are the stories that I count down to read the next episode and each episode is worth the wait. There are a few titles I’ve left off because they are on hiatus. I’ll be sure to make a new list when I have more titles to share.

1 to 10 by NOD

In 1 to 10, Gunjoon is set that his relationships have to follow a specific order. From dating to finally making it official, everything needs to go a certain way and build up to having sex. Yet, in the end, he finds himself disappointed by lame sex. In comes Jungseok, a sunbae he finds annoying due to how cool and popular he is. When they hook up after a one-night stand, Gunjoon is not expecting the situation he finds himself in next. The two are breaking all his rules and he doesn’t know what to do.

I am loving this story so far because it is clear to the readers that Jungseok likes Gunjoon, and Gunjoon is absolutely clueless. Jungseok is playing along with Gunjoon’s plan but it seems they have a history that Gunjoon does not know about or remember. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Backlight by Gangddo

Yeongwoon is a talent manager who ends up encountering his high school friend and first love Han Seo-in, who is now a top model. One thing leads to another and now Yeongwoon is Han Seo-in’s manager. But it seems Han Seo-in doesn’t want a manager and Yeongwoon can’t figure out what he’s after.

I won’t lie, this manhwa has so many unanswered questions and every episode adds more. So far we know something happened with Han Seo-in and Yeongwoon in high school that neither of them can get over. This is one of those reads that frustrates me every week but I still tune in because I NEED to know what happens next.

Onward by HONGSSONA

At first glance, it doesn’t seem like a swimming prodigy and an ex-idol would have a lot in common. And maybe they don’t, but in Onward it just works. When an incident leads Si-on to take on Seungwon as a housekeeper to earn money, the two don’t think too much about it. However, they both slowly start falling for each other while Seungwon is taking the swimming world by storm.

This manhwa has been my weekly read that has me kicking my feet and blushing every single episode. Seungwon is the typical young and puppy-hearted one with Si-on being the older, apprehensive one. I love seeing Seungwon slowly bring down the walls Si-on has and Si-on trying so hard not to let it happen.

Too Close for Comfort by Penguin

Too Close for Comfort is my sweet treat amongst all the angsty stories I read. It’s about a group of guys who are living together in a boarding house managed by Seol Won. As Won gets closer to a new tenant, Chulsoo, they discover their feelings might be mutual.

I love how light-hearted and cute this story is. It also follows the other three roommates so you see their stories too and they are also weird and fun.

Jinx by Mingwa

Kim Dan is your typical boy’s love star: down on his luck, poor, in debt, and the only person who he has in his life is in the hospital. He’s a physical therapist who due to a bad experience, has left his prior job. In comes Joo Jaekyung: a hot-heated MMA star who needs someone for his “jinx.” Jaekyung is literally the worst, and somehow, these two are going to fall in love. But it will take some time.

Listen, what you’re feeling, I feel it too. A lot of us came from BJ Alex, the other Mingwa manhwa, ready to fall in love with a new couple. What a lot of us found was a very tumultuous story that doesn’t seem to have a redemption arc in SIGHT for Jaekyung. In each episode, the tensions seem to get worse and worse! And when you don’t think it’s possible to hate Jaekyung more, he does something that MAKES YOU HATE HIM MORE!

I know you’re thinking, “Lisa, why are you still reading this?” I get it. I completely understand why people have dropped this manhwa. For me, all I can say is that I have faith, or maybe hope, that there’s something in store that will make all this agony and pain worth it. There has to be! I’m riding on this bus until the wheels fall off.
