CLAMP fans, this is not a drill! The long-awaited CLAMP and Netflix collaboration anime is almost here! At Anime Japan 2024, Netflix released the trailer for the series which looks to contain 6 episodes covering iconic stories like Cinderella, Little Red Robin Hood, and more. The series is set to premiere on Netflix on April 17.
The Grimm Variations features characters design by CLAMP (Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits), screenplay by Michiko Yokote (LOVE STAGE!!, Kamisama Kiss), music by Akira Miyagawa (Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199), and animation by WIT Studio (SPY x Family). This is not CLAMP’s first foray into designing original characters. Many recognize their iconic designs in series like Code Geass and Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress.
As one of the biggest CLAMP fans you know, I cannot wait for this anime! CLAMP has always had some of the most distinctive and iconic character designs, whether for manga or anime. Their touch always elevates a project and with this twist of stories we already know, it’s bound to be a good time. I’m also hoping this may inspire them to get back to work and finish X (I know that’s not happening.)
Once upon a time, brothers Jacob and Wilhelm collected fairy tales from across the land and made them into a book. But there’s more to the story. They also had a much younger sister, the innocent and curious Charlotte, whom they loved very much. One day, while the brothers were telling Charlotte a fairy tale as usual, they saw that she had a somewhat melancholic expression on her face. “Do you suppose they really lived happily ever after?” she asked.
The pages of Grimms’ Fairy Tales, written by Jacob and Wilhelm, are now presented from the unique perspective of Charlotte, who sees the stories quite differently from her brothers.

OMG, this sounds amazing! I totally need to renew my Netflix subscription so I can watch this! Holy schmoly, this is quite a collaboration. Character designs from Clamp and screen play by the creator of Love Stage and Kamisama Kiss, that sounds so good.
I saw Netflix post about this on Youtube. I agree this is major. CLAMP + WIT studio. I kind of want to watch it but wonder if I can make time to do so.
