Another original anime is on the horizon! AMC Networks anime streamer HIDIVE has announced that the original anime Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is joining the list of their Spring 2024 anime. Fans will be able to watch episodes 1 & 2 at the North American premiere at Anime Boston 2024 on March 29.

This original anime is produced by Doga Kobo, the studio behind Oshi No Ko, Sing Yesterday For Me, and Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun. Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is directed by Ryohei Takeshita (My Senpai is Annoying) and written by Yūki Yaku (Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki). The Japanese cast stars Miku Itou (Spy Classroom) as Mahiru Kozuki, Rie Takahashi (Oshi No Ko) as Kano Yamanouchi, Miyu Tomita (Solo Leveling) as Kiui Watase, and Miyuri Shimabukuro (Carole and Tuesday) as Mei Kim Anouk Takanashi.

Shibuya is a city full of identity. It is here on Shibuya’s late night streets that illustrator Mahiru Kozuki, former idol Kano Yamanouchi, Vtuber Kiui Watase and composer Mei Kim Anouk Takanashi — four young women who are slightly outside the world — join together and form an anonymous artist group called JELEE. “I” also want to shine like someone else. If it’s not me but “we” then we might be able to shine.
