Time to set sail, again! Netflix has just announced that THE ONE PIECE, the WIT STUDIO adaptation of One Piece will debut on the streamer in February 2027. This adaptation will start at the beginning of the East Blue saga. Season 1 will cover approximately the first 50 chapters of the original manga, spanning seven episodes all at once with a total runtime of around 300 minutes, leading up to Luffy’s encounter with Sanji, the sous chef of the floating restaurant Baratie.
THE ONE PIECE is directed by Masashi Koizuka (Attack on Titan, Moonrise) with Hideaki Abe serving as assistant director. The series composition is by Taku Kishimoto (SAKAMOTO DAYS) and Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda are the character designers and chief animation directors.

Honestly I’m still surprised Netflix is going all-in on THE ONE PIECE this hard after the live action actually turned out decent lol. February 2027 feels so far away though, by then we’ll probably already be drowning in new seasons of Frieren and Solo Leveling. I’ll still check it out for sure, but I hope they keep the adventure vibe and don’t over-modernize everything like some remakes do. Also curious where people outside Crunchyroll will watch it here in MENA, most of my friends still use Anime Slayer or random sites anyway
