Whenever I read an adult manga, I’ve already made peace with the fact that there will be certain sectors of my brain I will be turning off. Those sectors often include: reasoning, logic, the need for a good plot, and reality. And this is fine – we can enjoy the manga for the sex and leave it at that. But when the adult manga has a cute plot, it feels like winning the lottery.
In Shindou-kun’s Tight Squeeze: Helpless Against His Alluring Touch by Tsunao Natsuo, Omuro Rinko is a 24-year-old office worker for a snack company. When her boss assigns her to mentor a new employee, she is less than thrilled. She’s partnered with Shindou Ryoma, a seemingly standoffish man who also isn’t too happy about the setup. Shindou is cold and makes it clear he does not need Omuro’s help in any way. This all changes when, after a company dinner, Shindou asks Omuro to take him home, to her home. The two share a passionate night, and the tides start changing, both on and off the clock.
There is something to be said about the man who goes from aloof meanie to the obsessive golden retriever, ready to worship the ground you walk on. Shindou’s transformation is hot, and the intimate moments between him and Omuro are so, so, SO good. Shindou is an attentive partner, catering to Omuro’s desires and asking for consent every step of the way.
Omuro is a great character, too! She’s a little insecure at times about her work, but she’s strong and assertive. She’s also honest in voicing what she wants and isn’t scared to take initiative either. Omuro also isn’t afraid to go head-to-head with Shindou, at work and home. Both of them together have great chemistry.
This story is a fun and sexy read, so I recommend grabbing your beverage of choice, some popcorn, and diving right in.
