About PUNKS TRIANGLE stitch
PUNKS TRIANGLE stitch is a Boy’s Love manga series by Yuho Okita, published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. It is the sequel to PUNKS TRIANGLE. Yuho Okita is also the creator of Let Me See the Real You, Senpai! In this continuation, Chiaki and Ai are officially together and enjoying every moments spent as boyfriends. During school hours, they keep it lowkey and work hard on their assignments. When a new project has them working in a group with two other people, the relationship feels tested as it seems the other group members may be interested in them in more than one way.
My Thoughts
There’s nothing a BL girly loves more than when a one-shot gets a sequel! Admittedly, I had not read PUNKS TRIANGLE at the time of receiving the arc for stitch. So once I read that, I said “oh yeah, this story definitely deserves a sequel.” Chiaki and Ai are so freaking cute together, but the original story focuses on them getting together and working through the multiple identities thing. It was great but I immediately wanted more, so stitch was perfect.
In stitch, now that Chiaki and Ai are dating, they have to manage spending time together and being boyfriends with Ai’s modeling career, Chiaki’s jobs, and of course, their fashion design school. Chiaki and Ai’s growing relationship is to die for. They are so adorable with each other, and we get to see them get playful and more affectionate with each other. Giving each other gifts, sleepovers, shopping together! Ahhh, its just SO CUTE! And of course, a little bit of healthy jealousy here and there while trying to keep their relationship under wraps.
I love how much fashion is still a central component to this story and with the addition of new characters and challenges, that is not lost at all. We are introduced Mika and Arima who are Chiaki’s classmates and now group members for a fashion project. Fashion and design is what initially brings Chiaki and Ai closer together, so in this story we see it expanded in a bigger collaborative setting. Instead of two minds coming together, its four, and everyone has a different vision for that they want this to look like and what they want it to represent. Not to mention, everyone has their own relationship to fashion in general, which they bring to the project. I thought this part of the story was so well done, especially because you see how difficult it can be to put ideas together as a group. I’m looking forward to seeing the growth of the group and the project.
