Last year, Cheyenne Ewulu, known as CheyenneTheGeek, posted a proof of concept trailer that took over the nerdy social spaces online. Everyone had been talking about The Comic Shop. The quote tweets and comments were all asking the same thing, “when can we watch this??” Good news, you can now be apart of making The Comic Shop come to life.
The Comic Shop, stars Cheyenne, Zeno Robinson (My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer), Shanae Cole (Grown-ish) and Grayson Niles (The Goldbergs). It is a workplace sitcom taking place in a comic shop, mockumentary style. In it, four friends try to keep their comic bookstore open while competing with a big box store.
A Kickstarter has been launched today, November 12, to fund the first season of The Comic Shop. With a funding goal of $160,000, the Kickstarter funds will pay for the crew and cast, and other project essentials for 6 – 20 minute episodes. There are many rewards for backers, including exclusive bts content, shoutouts, Q&A on Zoom with a cast member, and more.
