Kaiju No. 8 was one of my favorite anime last season, and I’m so excited that now I’ll have a chance to watch it on the big screen! Crunchyroll announced on March 14 that they acquired the North American theatrical rights for the omnibus film Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will bring the film to theatres in the United States and Canada on April 13, 14, and 16, 2025. It will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English.
The movie will recap season one and include a never-before-seen episode titled “Hoshina’s Day Off.” There will also be a new ending theme song by the band OneRepublic.
